Yesterday's game in detail.

Here, I'll discuss individual games. I'll try not to be a Monday Morning Quarterback, but sometimes it's hard to resist, and that's part of the fun of being a fan anyway. I might use a format similar to this for my game reports:

January 11

Islanders 5 Bruins 4

The Bruins lose to the Islanders in a shootouts 5-4.

Jason Blake and Miroslav Satan both scored in the shootout for the Islanders.  The Islanders got goals from Robitalle, Kozlov, Poti and Hunter.

The Bruins goals came from Begeron, Savard, Chara and Mara.

The Islanders looked good on the Power Play with two big goals on it.  The Islanders were 2 for 4 on the Power Play last night while the Bruins were 1 for 6 on the Power Play.

The Bruins looked good most of the game as they scored the first two goals and they had the lead with about 1:30 left but then Kozlove scored a goal to send it to OT.

There were no goals in OT and in the shootout, the Islanders were able to win in sudden death.  Thw winning goalie was Rick DiPietro and the loser was Hannu Toivonen.

The three stars were:
#1 Marc Savard
#2 Zdeno Chara
#3 Miroslav Satan

The next game is on the 13th against the Rangers on NBC, NOT NESN!

Heroes and Goats

In this area, I might mention the players who most distinguished themselves in yesterday's game, both in good and bad ways.

I might also rate on a scale of 1-10 the team's performance in the game and suggest areas that I think need improvement.
